| Conscious use of the mind |

The theory is an important part of Chi Neng® Qigong. The unique Hunyuan holistic theory- where we learn about Hunyuan Qi and the connection between all that is. Daode, where we learn about the relationship between how we live our daily life, our emotions, morality and our health. Yishi, where we learn about the importance of the use of the mind and how we can consciously shape our own lives. The Qi field, where we learn how to positively influence the quality of training (and life) of ourselves and others.
Level 1, exchanging QiThe goal of Level 1 is to increase the natural process of exchanging Qi. We open and strengthen the channels between man and nature (open system). We use the intention of the mind to release internal Qi and to absorb external Qi. The quantity and quality of our internal Qi will increase. The exchange takes place through the skin and we are working with external Qi. That’s why this method is called External Hunyuan Qi.Below is a short description of the basic exercises of Chi Neng® Qigong. The moving form (LQU), the meditative form (3-CM) and the most active exercise(Wall squat). Lift Qi Up and Pour Qi Down (Peng Qi Guan Ding Fa) In L1 we attract Qi with our mind and we focus on the external Qi which is exchanged with our internal Qi just outside the body. The ‘physical’ movements of the Lift Qi Up and Pour Qi Down form are constructed in such a way that the body is constantly making mild stretching and extending movements. The whole body is moving rhythmically, which relaxes and extends muscles and tendons. The blood and lymph circulation are supported and harmonized, as well as the Qi flow through the meridians. Waste products can be drained easier through blood and lymph streams. It has a calming, relaxing and detoxifying effect. 3-Centres Merge (San Xing Bing Zhan Zhuang) The 3-Centres Merge is a standing meditation exercise during which the three centres (crown, hands and feet) merge in the Dantian (stomach). This means feeling how the extremities of your body (crown, hands and feet) are connected to the centre of your body (lower Dantian). The attention is in the lower Dantian and the intention is to gather all Qi there. This standing meditation opens up the lower back by bringing forward the coccyx. It will strengthen your lower body and legs and makes you emotionally stronger. Wall squat (Dun Qiang Fa) The Wall squat is a deep knee bend with your toes as close to the wall as possible. You move up and down with your face close to the wall. The presence of the wall assures a safe and optimal alignment of your knees, pelvis and spinal column. The Wall squat is the most active exercise of Chi Neng® Qigong. The wall takes care of a safe and optimal body posture and has very positive effects on your knees, pelvis and spine. Because of the powerful movements from the legs, and the opening up of the lower back, the Wall squat has a strong positive effect on the kidney energy.
Level 2, gathering Qi deeper inside
In Level 2 and beyond the process of blending and exchanging Qi takes place in the meridians, internal organs, the central meridian and the centre line. Qi captures a place deeper and deeper in the body until man and nature (universe) have become one. Below a description of the most important exercise of Level 2.
